Front Yard Mowed and Nox Takes Another Ride

October 12, 2024

Bruce finished mowing the front yard. The grass was knee high, so a little over a foot tall.

Here’s the last bit in the front that needs to be mowed.

Here is a picture of the front yard completely mowed.

So Much Yard, Completely Mowed

He started mowing the back pasture, which is full of broom straw grass, blackberries, honeysuckle vines, trumpet flower vines, poison ivy, downed branches and animal feeders.

First Path Through

The broom draw grass is close to two feet. Bruce mowed around several patches of blackberries.

By the end of the day, I admired his efforts and Nox wanted a ride.

We decided it would be safer for Nox to sit at Bruce’s feet, than for him to hold her. With the mower blades off, Bruce headed for the barn.

Nox enjoyed the short ride to the barn. I just know she is going to enjoy riding in a cart.

Today, Bruce is mowing the backyard. Nox is watching him intently.

I want to RIDE!

      1. Not yet! I do hope the blackberry canes Bruce left will produce and we’ll get some berries next year. It might be the year after that. A lot of canes had been mowed down.

  1. That is a very big yard!! You really need the fancy mower. Our extended family LLC bought an expensive zero turn mower this summer (not electric) after the old cabin riding mower conked out. There is a lot of yard at the cabin property. We have a big yard too. Wayne ends up doing a lot of the mowing for the cabin as well as the yard since we live nearby, so as much as we did not like having to contribute to the cost of the new cabin mower it does go a lot faster.

    1. We got a great deal on the lawn mower. We bought it through Amazon and during Amazon Prime Day, it was a $1000 off and free delivery! There is no way we would want to mow this lawn with a push mower.
I think you are right, it will be a good investment in the long run.
