Current News – RV Tire Update

September 18, 2024

The mobile tech wasn’t able to come out until Monday morning (September 16) to remove the tire.

He hadn’t seen a brake failure like ours before. The brake assembly came loose and shot a piece through the metal rim of the wheel. This is what caused the sudden loss of air from the tire.

The mobile tech had to cut the tire loose to remove it from the RV.

The mobile tech capped the brake line to the driver’s side center wheel. Bruce and the mobile tech worked together to bleed the brakes. $400 later, we said thank you for your help. This gave us 5 brakes out of 6, instead of no brakes out of 6.

Bruce was ready to head down the road, so let the office know we were repaired. We thanked them for accommodating us.

We packed up and headed out, at 11:30 AM.

We arrived safely at a campground in Indiana along I-65 and spent the night.

We got up at 6:00 AM, packed up, and left at 6:30 AM.

We arrived at the factory on September 17 at noon.

We talked to Bob, the Service Manager. Bob recommended we call MORRyde directly. Bob thought we might be able to get in sooner at the MORRyde factory through the consumer facing team. Bob was also going to call MORRyde, but that conversation would be between the manufacturer and the vendor.

We unhitched the RV and left it in their hands.

It feels strange staying in a hotel room. Nox decided she should make pitiful cries so we’d let her up in the bed during the night. We were strong and didn’t fall for it.

Bruce did get up and take her outside in the middle of the night. That was not what Nox really wanted.
