Rolling, Rolling to Ellis, Kansas

August 3, 2024

We did most of our check list yesterday, making this morning packing up a breeze.

We did run into a gross situation. As I was removing the blocks of wood we use underneath the stabilizers, a vast number of earwigs poured out.

I knocked the blocks of wood on the concrete pad to knock off the earwigs, before storing the wood blocks in a plastic storage container.

After we finished packing up, we hitched up without any problems.

I watched as Bruce rolled out of our longtime site to make sure everything was clear. We left behind a vast number of squished earwigs, as they ran under the tires.

The truck seems quieter. Maybe the new roof is sealed tighter?

Here are the pictures I took along the way from Golden, Colorado to the city campground in Ellis, Kansas. (Yes, this is the same campground that we experienced the 20 minute hailstorm that damaged our truck and RV.)

  1. The wind turbines certainly are elegant, with their sculptured blades, especially the huge ones that turn so majestically. Their dance with the wind is something that always lifts my heart.

Nox looks content to be back on the road. And it sounds like all is well with repairs, now that they are FINALLY done!

    1. Such a poetic admiration of the wind turbines! You captured just how I feel watching the blades slowly turn.

Nox does seem to be enjoying traveling again.

We are so happy to have the truck back in one piece!
