Campfire and Hotdogs and Marshmallows Cooked Over the Coals

June 1, 2024

On April 29, we decided to sit outside and have a campfire in the lovely weather.

Bruce got the campfire going. We enjoyed watching it while we sat in our camp chairs listening to the sound of the cicadas.

Our next door neighbors had hitched up their RV and headed home, so we had a clear view of the lake.

Once the fire had turned into hot coals, I brought out the hot dogs and fixings for them. We skewered the hot dogs on our wire sticks and held them over the coals until browned.

After dressing the hot dogs and eating them, we toasted marshmallows over the coals.

Hmmm, it is a good thing I enjoy burnt marshmallows. Some of my marshmallows went from just a little brown to on fire, in a snap of fingers.

  1. You know it is summer when you can have a campfire with hotdogs and marshmallows. I saw an idea on pinterest for smores in a croissant, by cutting the croissant open and putting the chocolate and marshmallow inside, then wrapping the whole thing up in tinfoil. That sounds soooo yummy but also very unhealthy!

    1. Bruce loves chocolate croissants as well. We have a bakery right near the current RV park that makes chocolate and plain croissants. We had croissants for breakfast on Saturday. They are sooo goooooood!
