On Thursday (September 21), we rode the motorcycle to Miller Orchards Farm Market and Bakery outside of Winchester, VA. It was another glorious fall day.
The bakery was at one end of the market. They had apple cider doughnuts that were yummy. We also brought two apples dumplings. I would recommend taking them home and heating them up. They were disappointing cold.
They had fresh vegetables, lots of apples, jellies, jams, apple butter, wine from a local winery, grapes from a local vineyard, fresh milk, eggs, cider and a fudge kitchen.

We sat outside by the apple orchard underneath a pavilion. We watched people picking apples in the orchard. When asked, Bruce was not interested in picking apples.
There was a great playground and as we watched, a van load of children arrived and proceeded to climb the equipment.

On our way out, we stopped in and bought a gallon of cider.
We tried the cider as soon as we got home. It was delicious!
Sounds like a perfect fall day outing! I love farmers markets. Now I’m craving fresh apple cider. :o)

It was delicious! I always feel local fresh produce tastes best. The apple cider was practically good.

It is! It was fun and I enjoyed visiting. We didn’t get any more apples since we had some from the previous farm market we visited. I really love seeing how different farmers make a living by thinking outside the box. I see so much corn and soybeans in our travels, it is great to see apple trees and other crops.

I’m jealous. Visiting places like this is one of our very favorite things to do when road tripping and right now is the perfect time of year!

I did enjoy your stories of visiting places like this. The enormous apple pie story comes to mind. Bruce tells me I make the best apple pie. I think it’s his story and he is sticking with it so I make apple pies for him.
