We’ve been enjoying Fort Chiswell RV Park. Nox loves it. They have two large dog walks that let her look at the cows (cattle) in the pasture next to the RV spark.
Nox has developed a fascination with the cows.
When asked the question, “Do you want to go see the cows?” This was the response.

Bruce carries her down the steps and over to the dog walks.

Nox is so excited watching the cows that she shivers. She is very disappointed when the cows leave soon after she starts watching them. She wants to be friends.
She will stand there watching the cows for as long as we will let her or the cows leave.
I really like the Nox eye view –

Thank you. I thought it would be fun to try to get a picture of her view of the cow. We are delighted that she is having so much enjoyment out of watching cows.

Well, first I have to say I love Bruce’s t-shirt…just sayin’… It is fun how other species see each other, but I share Nox’s fascination with cows. I must have hundreds of pictures of them from over the years!

I like other people’s cows. I grew up on a dairy farm and milked cows to earn money for college, so cows are reminders of hard work. Imagine doing aerobics for 4 hours straight in the morning…just to have to do it again in the evening. I usually only milked the cows in the evening, but no school on the weekends or the summer.

We used to have a miniature poodle who thought that cows were large, scary dogs and barked aggressively at them! I’m glad Nox is more sensible and friendly.

Dogs can be funny how they look at other animals. Nox wants to be friends with other animals, she believed she was playing when chasing rabbits and squirrels.

She probably wants to be part of the pack. How adorable.

I think that must be it. She seems disappointed when the cows leave.

Geordie would have been vocalizing at the cows? Does Nox ever say anything?

No, not at the cows. She does vocalize about treats. She makes the oddest noise, sorta a combination bark and howl. Then she runs over to where the treats are and looks up at them. Repeats until we get the message or she is told no treat.

That’s why I used the word vocalize for Geordie. He made a similar bark/howl that is hard to describe. Terriers must have their own unique voices.. (Also, she seems to have you very well trained! 😂)

She does have us well trained. We give her half a mini treat so she can enjoy more treating experiences without overwhelming her system.

I tried that with Toby, but he insists on getting both his and “Geordie’s” halves. 😆
