On September 8, we headed north to Sandusky to see Lake Erie. We reached Ohio 2, just south of Sandusky and turned east to Huron.
The soybean fields we passed were turning yellow.

We stopped in at the Nickel Plate Beach. It was empty except for us and the gulls. While I didn’t see any shells, there were many flat rocks polished by the waves.

Since we could see the Huron Lighthouse, we decided to see if we could get closer to it.
We drove through Huron to the parking for the lighthouse next to the Huron River. The riverside restaurants were closed. We were charmed by the Airstream hotdog stand.
Informational signs discussed boats and how the harbor was used. We walked along a pier to get to the deck to view the lighthouse.

There was seating along the almost 1/2 a mile pier.
On the way back, we stopped and watched the cormorants on the other side of the harbor. While we watched the cormorants we saw the gulls on the Nickel Plate Beach take flight. There was a dog chasing them into the air.

We headed back to the Gotta Getaway RV Park. On the way back to the park, I noticed the corn fields were turning brown.

Nox was happy to see us and to go for a walk.
I saw a lot of the yellowing fields on a recent trip. Thanks for telling me what they are! I love the seagull’s!
