Heading to Gotta Getaway RV Park Outside of Bellevue, Ohio

September 18, 2023

On Sunday (August 27), we finish packing up the RV, hitched it up, and headed to I-80/I-90. We rolled into Ohio, without a welcome sign. I did get a picture of the Ohio Turnpike sign.

We exited the Ohio Turnpike onto Ohio 4, south and drove past the Norfolk Southern Railyard. It was so small compared to the Union Pacific Railyard in North Platte, Nebraska.

We then turned east onto US 20 and drove for a short distance to the Gotta Getaway RV Park.

We arrived and parked in an empty grass field with hookups. This is an old campground that was a Jellystone Campground back in the day. The old spots in the field are in the checkerboard pattern. We discovered that this RV park doesn’t have sewer connections. They do charge $10 for a pump out on Mondays and $15 for a pump out on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Here are some pictures from Gotta Getaway RV Park.

Gotta Getaway has a fishing pond, catch and release. We walked to the pond and only saw small fish, from 2 to 4 inches. We did see several dazzles of dragonflies. Here are some pictures of some resting dragonflies and a bullfrog.

The frogs would leap into the water as we walked around the pond. Some would make a cheeping noise as they leaped into the pond. The picture of the big bullfrog was taken as we walked around the pond. Bruce noticed the frog and we stopped walking so we could admire the frog. Once we resumed walking, the frog headed into deeper waters.

    1. We do boondocks overnight at Harvest Host Locations and plan to try longer boondocking at some point. Our batteries died and we just got them replaced, so that should help.
It was a beautiful park and Nox really liked having that large field to wonder around. She was very surprised when so many RVs showed up and filled up the field. She wanted to check them all out.
