Fiddler Pond Park in Goshen, Indiana

September 6, 2023

Once we arrived at our hotel, we paid extra for early check in and got settled. Nox was a bit nervous and wanted to be right with us.

We were tired from the stress of getting up early and moving our home to the factory to be repaired. We took tried to take naps and Bruce did manage to catch a few zzz’s. Once he woke up, he asked me if there was anything I wanted to do in Goshen.

I wanted to see Fiddler Pond Park, so Bruce drove us there. Bruce parked the truck in the shade and got Nox out of the truck.

We walked around for a bit and I wanted to see the Welcome Center. Since only service animals were allowed in the Welcome Center, Bruce took Nox and sat down on one of the picnic tables.

The Welcome Center was closed, but I noticed a covered information center nearby.

I didn’t realize that US 30 was such a historic highway. You can take a look at the changes and additions to the highway here: http://www.lincolnhighwayassoc.org/map/

The Lincoln Memorial Highway still runs from Times Square in New York, New York to Lincoln Park in San Francisco, California.

I walked to the picnic tables and Nox was happy to see me heading over. I got some pictures of geese on the water.

It was hot, so we didn’t stay long. We stopped at Walmart and Bruce went inside while I stayed in the truck with Nox. He picked up whatever he was looking for and food for a late lunch/early dinner.

Nox seemed more comfortable when we were at the hotel room. We ate in the hotel room and talked about what we would do for tomorrow. We did watch to Food Channel for a bit, but there is only so much “Beat Bobby Flay” that I want to watch.

We went to bed early, which made a good end to a long and stressful day.
