Victoria Campground is a COE (Corps of Engineers or more fully, US Army Corps of Engineers) campground. Many people think that COE campground are just for the military, but anyone can stay in one. They do have a limit of 2 weeks. The COE campgrounds don’t have full hookups. They do have water and electricity. This one had a well designed dump station for big rigs.
I was very impressed with the Victoria Campground. It has large treed spots and many backed up to Lake Allatoona or were alongside the lane. The campsites had a large camping area with a picnic table and fire pit. The camping area is small gravel and can be used by tent campers.
Many of the sites were pull throughs and our site 70 was a large pull through.
There were dogwood trees blooming and we could see one tree from our window.
The campground has its own beach. The water was low, so it didn’t come up to the sand. I had the impression it was a time of year water level and more water would be in the lake later.
A pair of ospreys are nesting by site 25.
There was a playground, but since I don’t have small kids, I didn’t check it out.
Here are some additional Lake Allatoona pictures.
There was a blue bird house with a blue bird checking it out.
The campground is next to the marina and the day use area. These are easy to access from the campground.
We stayed 2 nights and part of a second day. Check out is at 3:00 pm, so we left around 2:30 pm.
