Today, we stopped by the Jekyll Mosaic on Jekyll Island, GA. It is a small museum in the Club Stables building. The museum is very well done with lots well organized exhibits. It was $10 for an adult.

The exhibits are organized by time periods.
The docent directed us to the back, so we could start at the earliest history.
They start out with wall showing what you might find as you dig down into the island.
They mention the Georgia Native American Chiefdom called Gualen.

Next, came the English settlers.

Then, the plantation history and the illegal import of slaves.

And, Jekyll Island becomes a state park.

I would recommend anyone who enjoys history to stop in and see the Jekyll Mosaic.
Very interesting!

I like that a woman is featured in the “Triumph of Science” about the transcontinental phone line!
