Heading to Florida

January 30, 2022

We packed up the RV this morning and started our retirement RV dream.

We managed to leave at 10:40 am, 20 minutes before check out.

The views were spectacular as we headed down (south) I-25. We stopped at a rest area and walked Nox.

Nox was happy to get back in the truck.

We had to stop and get diesel at Raton, NM along Hwy 87. This truck stop was just off I-25 and on the way, as we wanted to go east on Hwy 87. The Raton truck stop had a nice dog walk. Nox enjoyed looking back at the RV from the dog walk.

We made it to Clayton, NM and stopped for the night at Coyote Keeth’s RV Park. They are a gravel park with some rectangles of grass with picnic tables. The park is a basic park that is very clean.

We got there just before sunset.

The stars are very beautiful from this park. It is not as spectacular as a dark sky park, but you there is minimal light pollution.
