Looking at RVs (Finding the RV 8)

December 6, 2019

This is the weekend we are going to look at the different models of Grand Design toy haulers. I’ll update this post to let you know how it goes.

December 8, 2019 Update

Saturday, we headed over to Windish to see the Momentums. We walked around the lot and found the Momentum 376TH. We took a close look at the living room and realized that the slides are not at floor level. They are up about 3 to 4 inches. If we got a 376th, we had been planning on taking out the couches and replacing them with desks. On the step side of the living room, it doesn’t have outlets, so we would have to figure out how to wire that side for computers. I’m glad I stopped to look at that and what it would take to turn the couches into a desk area.

The Momentum 397TH had been sold so we didn’t get to look at it.

We did spend some time looking at one of the new Momentum 320G. While the kitchen felt adequate, in looking around it, and trying to think how I would cook in it, I realized that the only place in the kitchen that had an outlet was in the back of the wall in the nook where the stove was. Really? I think I could adjust to the tiny kitchen, but not having an outlet to use while I was cooking at the stove…that just doesn’t seem workable. Now, Bruce is very handy, and he could add an extra outlet. Surely, they realize the people cook with their Instant Pots and their stove at the same time.

We did do some measuring on a couple of the garages to see how desk would fit in there and realized that the garages have outlets on both walls. I’m thinking that the 397TH is going to be a better option than the 376TH
