August 24, Bruce had to go in for jury duty. He had received the notice four weeks ago. They had called up 400 people to pick the jury from. The court only planned to take two days to select the jury. It took them 5 days. Bruce was not allowed to talk about the case until he was released.
While Bruce was gone, I used my kneeler while I was digging up nut grass from the flower bed. I knew the nut grass would come right back after the first weeding and the second weeding would help get it under control.
I wish I had gotten the kneeler much sooner! It helps so much.

In the vegetable garden, I saw 2 pearl crescent butterflies.

I took a couple of pictures of the living room curtains as the light and shadows played across the curtains. I didn’t stay in the living room long, I stopped a couple of times as the light and shadows caught my eye.

When Bruce got home, he started working on unclogging the drain pipe under the patio. We had chipmunks running out of the pipe earlier in the year. Who knows what they put into the pipe? Ants may have also added dirt to the drain helping clog it up. While talking to Bruce, I noticed a praying mantis.

He wasn’t able to get the drain unclogged. He made progress, so maybe another day he’ll get it unclogged.
We had a pretty sunset.

Who knows what’s blocking the drain. It’s possibly a dead possum.
