Continuing to Walk Around

May 23, 2026

On May 11, I continued walking around Blackberry Homestead to help my recovery from the gallbladder removal surgery.

I enjoy looking at the garden, so my walks mainly focus on the garden.

Later in the day, I walked into the back pasture.

Bruce had cut logs from Pine Tree Two in the past. I don’t remember how long ago it has been. He used the new toy (tractor) to move logs he had cut from Pine Tree Two. He used the front loader to move them to the location he wanted. He then stacked the logs up using the backhoe.

Stacked Logs

We saw an Indigo Bunting in the backyard. The picture did not turn out at all, but you can see the deep blue lump in the grass and clover.

In the evening, we sat outside and watched the fireflies lighting up the yard as the sun slipped below the horizon.

We have also been admiring Venus and Jupiter in the western sky. We will watch until Venus sets.

    1. The peas and radishes are lovely this year. Does Wilson like peas? Nox loved fresh-picked peas, black-eyed peas, and snap beans. I miss finding her at my feet wanting sugar snap peas.
