Some Artwork I Created for my In-Laws

**Updated December 23, 2025 **

I was able to get pictures of some of the artwork I created for my in-laws.

Here is a pen and ink of a raccoon on a grape vine. I couldn’t find an angle to avoid the glare.

Here’s my in-laws sailing at dusk.

“Current Assets” Under Sail

While I couldn’t remember the name of their sailboat, my FIL provided it to me. He is a great punster (if one can be considered great by making those around him groan) and he used his ability to name the sailboat.

Here’s a daylily in pen and ink. There was a lot of glare on the glass.

My mother-in-law loved the brown pelican on the island. She was collecting pelican-related artworks. She wanted me to do one for her. I created this pen and ink drawing for her. Once again, I wasn’t able to find an angle to avoid the glare.

The pelican was a labor of love. The feathers and face were a difficult challenge.

It was fun revisiting some of my artwork.

  1. These are just beautiful, Julia. I like the nature aspect of the day lily, raccoon, and pelican, but the sailboat is the one I keep looking at the longest! You are very talented and I appreciate that you share these drawings with us.

    1. Thank you! I really enjoyed creating the sailboat picture. The shadows and light made a fun drawing. I find myself excited to get back into drawing. I hadn’t realized how much I missed it.

  2. That’s some real talented stuff there. I can’t pick a favorite, I like them all. If you ever want to trade for some AI generated portraits of a dog and possum, let me know, I got a source. Merry Christmas to you, Bruce, Miss Nox and all the family!

    1. I might do a sketch for you, but I need an AI-generated portrait of Nox in return!

I wish you, Rekio, Possy, and the rest of your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
