Since Bruce doesn’t care for turkey, we have some other bird. We’ve had chicken, duck, goose, pheasant, and Cornish hens (AKA little birds).
I always have ham, since it wouldn’t feel like Thanksgiving to me without ham. I always get a very small ham, sometimes just a couple of slices.

Your menu looks delicious! This year, for the first time I took a small taste of pecan pie. I’ve always avoided it because it looks too sweet. The no corn syrup version looks interesting. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

The no corn syrup version is not as sweet. One of our friends came to visit while we were fulltime RVing. I made a no corn syrup pecan pie for dessert. Being polite, he took a small slice and after eating it, asked for another slice. He said normally pecan pie was too sweet, but mine was delicious.

That looks delicious! Although I confess as we get older, our appetites are small, very small. Our dinner reservation was at 7:30 as it was a popular place. Butternut squash soup and a delicious Caprese flatbread, a glass of Malbec and a couple of spoons of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and for the husband 2 spoonfulls of gnocchi carbonara, and we brought home the rest for the next night including a slice of pumpkin cheesecake. It was p-erfect!

I know. I think we are over the big dinner get together unless we are invited to them and we bring a dish. When my stepson and his family come to visit, we end up going out as they live where you can’t find seafood, often and they love it here.
