Sweeping the RV Roof

November 6, 2025

On November 3 (Monday) Bruce decided he really needed to sweep the RV roof and make sure the gutters were clear. We drove to the RV.

We checked inside to make sure all was good with the furnace and heat pump. Since it was, Bruce climbed up on the roof with the broom and started to sweep the roof.

I was inside the RV, when I heard Bruce talking. I came out to see who he was talking to.

One of the RV neighbors had stopped his golf cart and was talking with Bruce.

They chatted for about ten minutes and the neighbor left so Bruce could “get back to sweeping”. I was worried the gutters might have wet leaves again. When the wet leaves come out of the gutters, they get the sides of the RV messy. Fortunately, the leaves were dry and fluttered down.

Bruce asked me to extend the awnings about six inches while he was sweeping the roof. The awning covers hold leaves and are hard to reach around the gutters. With the awnings extended just that small amount, Bruce can easily reach them to clear the leaves. Once Bruce cleared the gutters on the camping side, I brought in the awnings.

Once Bruce finished sweeping the roof, he locked up and we left.

Once we got home, Bruce set the wood in the burn barrel on fire. A bit later, Bruce brought a box in, saying “I bring gifts.” FedEx delivered a box of flower plants. I planted the flowers in the big flower garden. I planted oriental poppies, coneflowers, and Black-eyed Susans.

We had a pretty golden sunset at Blackberty Homestead.
