I am feeling back to normal today, except for the vaccination spots on my left arm. The area is still sore and it is warm to the touch. I can now move my arm without it hurting. While the side effects have been unpleasant, I don’t want to risk lockjaw. Our property had animals on it, so the risk for tetanus is real.
I kept thinking about completing the third lion cub.
Once I got the laundry started, I spent some time working on the third lion cub.
Heres’s the starting point.

The cub’s left ear (the one on the right side of the drawing) wasn’t in the right spot. It was too high on the head and slightly too big. I didn’t realize it until I had completed the ear.
Here is the finished lion cub.

Can you spot the differences?
I’ll put the answers down below.
Here’s the finished picture.

I am pleased with how it came out. Now I just have to get it framed. I would like the framing to match the “Lioness and Cub”.

Here are the differences between Cub Three’s starting point and final look.
Cub’s left ear (the ear on the right in the picture) was erased and moved down.
The shape of the left ear was changed. It is less pointed.
The left shoulder (the one on the right side of the picture) was increased slightly.
I lightened up the fur on the left side of the chest.
I lightened up the shadows in the fur on the lower chest.
I added some width to the lower left front leg (the one on the right in the picture.)
The shadow in the grass was moved. The third lion cub is closer to the viewer. I had her shadow in the wrong spot.
I’m not counting the finished rock as a change to the cub. Finishing the rock was just completing the picture.
Excellent on the cubs!

As you drew them, did you imagine genders for your cubs? Which are male, and which are female?

I did image genders for each of the lion cubs. The first one is female, the second male, and the third is female. I imagined in the play fight, the first cub is about to leap up and knock the second cub down.

I asked because the middle cub looked like a boy to me. I thought the others were girls. You did a good job of expressing your thoughts in the drawing!

Thanks! I got a nice comment on my picture from a fellow customer when I took it in to get framed today!
