On Friday (August 8), after volunteering most of the morning, Bruce and I decided to get lunch at Mary Lee’s since we were down that way. I didn’t realize how dirty we had gotten until we were walking into the restaurant. Fortunately, while Mary Lee’s has outstanding food, they are very casual. Farmers, farmhands, and other hard-working folks eat there.
After eating, Bruce had prescriptions to pick up at Walmart. While he waited to get his prescriptions, I picked up some groceries. Bruce texted me that he was getting immunization shots at the pharmacy. I texted back that I was going to be in the vision center. It gave me a chance to look at frames and get pricing. I am going to need at least two pairs of glasses, and maybe a third.
Bruce found me and after I got the quotes, Bruce started telling me about getting tetanus and pneumonia shots. Then, taking a breath, he asked if I wanted to get shots. I considered for a second, then said yes. We went back to the pharmacy and I filled out the form and got tetanus and a pneumonia shots.
We went home after that. We took Nox out for a walk and I inspected the garden for pest. We got showered and it was lovely to be clean again.
On Saturday (August 9), I woke up with body aches and developed a low-grade fever in the afternoon. My left arm where I got the shots hurt like a nasty bruise. It hurt from the shoulder down to five inches above the elbow. It body aches got worse later in the day.
I spent part of the day working on the third lion cub. The right ear is too big and too high up. I’ll have to do some more work on it. I wish I had realized the problem sooner.

I also think the rock the third lion cub is sitting on needs to be taller.
Bruce started mowing.
Even with an OTC pain reliever, I had body aches that prevented me from getting to sleep. I was finally able to get to sleep around one.
Today, I woke up way too early, but my body aches weren’t nearly as painful. My fever had also gone away. My arm was still just as painful.
I was just lazy today. Bruce spent most of the day mowing.
Symmetry is for people who lack imagination. Maybe your cub is like me and has a crooked face!

I’ll think about it some more!

How much did the prescription for eyeglasses and exam cost at Wal-Mart? BTW, very talented with artwork!

I don’t know about the cost of the exam. My ophthalmologist will do an eye exam on Wednesday as part of the follow-up for my cataract surgery.
For the progressive with anti-glare and transition, the cost for a pair of glasses lenses with the three types of lenses Walmart offers is:
Plastic – $230
Poly – $260
Hi Index – $475
The frames start at $20, if I remember correctly.
A second set of glasses would be 35% off.

Thanks, I was just curious. Good lucky with the exam. The frames are the least expensive. So, between all you can spend about $300 or more.

Yes. I am going to check with Costco for pricing to see how much they charge.

My glasses are practical, sometimes not as style conscious as I would prefer but the price is right from the VA, so I go with the flow.

Yes, I am happy if I can find something affordable that works well and looks decent.

Yes, I am too picky. The VA does have some good selections. It is not the runway. I always want a little more but usually they are all about the same. Thanks.
