After Baking

February 13, 2025

I meant to share the picture of the bread yesterday.

Here’s the picture of the bread ready to go into the oven.

Here’s the baked and sliced bread.

There is a ting of red on the outside of the loaf, where it rose above the pan. The rest of the outside of the loaves are brown. I was very surprised to see the inside was brown and not pink!

I had hoped the beet root powder addition to the bread dough would give me beautiful pink loaves.

While the bread tasted great, I didn’t get any beet root flavor.

      1. Your bread looks so much nicer than mine.

Have you ever grown sweet potatoes? They are red when they come out of the ground. It was a surprise the first time I harvested them. 😆

    1. Even with my large kitchen in the RV, I had to store the mixer in the basement. When I wanted to use it, I had to get it out of the basement and bring it into the kitchen. The same for my food processor.

I do like making bread dough in the mixer. It works great for kneading the dough.
