The hospital discharged my father-in-law today. While the doctors (Neurosurgeon and Internist) had been discussing sending him to a nursing facility, the caseworker said my father-in-law didn’t qualify. He has good mobility, so they are sending him straight home.
Bruce says his dad is more coherent and keeps improving. Bruce is still concerned that his dad had spells of confusion and might wander off.
They really don’t want my father-in-law doing too much just yet.
The doctor prescribed three different physical therapies for my father-in-law. The speech therapist is responsible for monitoring his cognitive abilities.
It is good to know he is getting better by the day. Bruce felt his dad was so much better today than he was yesterday. I just hope he keeps improving until he is back to his normal self.

That is great news! It generally is so much better for them to be in their own home when possible. He might be able to qualify for a home health aide or nurse checks. That really helped a lot with Mom and Dad when Sis took him home. He received excellent care from one of the home health agencies. It is really good to hear Bruce thinks he is improved as well, and no doubt, being with his children at home will help a great deal.

They zoom call him every day so he can see them. My daughter has been calling him after work. He does seem to feel loved.
I would’ve thought he would’ve qualified for a home health aid or nurse checks.
My dad had a home health aide and that helped a lot.

Yes, he is. Nox loves her people grandpa and he thinks she is a real cutie.
I texted Bruce pictures of Nox and he would show the to his dad. His dad really enjoyed seeing them and Bruce thought it really helped his dad to see the pictures.
