My dear friend, Jeanne from A Jeanne in the Kitchen, invited Bruce and me to go to Blue Mountain Vineyard with her, Larry and some other friends on Saturday (June 29).
We drove to Jeanne’s and then Jeanne’s husband, Larry, drove us to the winery.
Jeanne had made a beautiful charcuterie platter with lemon marinated olives in a bowl.
The other ladies also brought delicious food. I had planned to stop at Grateful Bread and pick up sourdough baguettes, but Nox took so long doing Nox things, we had to head straight for Jeanne’s without stopping.

The Blue Mountain Vineyard had seating outside under large trees and some seating in the sunshine.
The tables had umbrellas to keep off the sunshine.

Bruce ordered a flight of wine and then picked the one he liked best to get as a glass. He was impressed by the large pours.
I don’t drink due to the medication I am on to deal with nerve pain.
The winery provided water, which I happily consumed with the treats Jeanne and the other ladies brought.
After a bit, some of us walked around the gardens on the grounds. They were very beautiful!

It was a lovely day, the temperature was comfortable in the shade and still not to hot in the sunshine.
We had a fabulous time and enjoyed the wonderful food Jeanne and friends prepared.

Julia, It sounded like a great place to visit. Too bad you couldn’t sample the wares. Sorry to hear you have had so much problem with shingles. I had a mild case of it many decades ago with no repercussions – thank Heavens!!!! I hope the rest of your stay in the area goes well for you. Love, Howard

Yes, I’ve been dealing with the fallout of the shingles since I was 42.
