On Friday (December 1), we ran through our check list to pack up and pulled out of Southern Retreat RV Park near Brunswick, GA just after 10:00 am. It took a little bit longer than usual since we weren’t able to do our full day before check list.
We felt good to be out at 10:00 am and really appreciated our neighbor moving his truck so we didn’t have to worry about hitting it as we left our tight spot.
Here’s some pictures of our trip, with a stop at a Florida Rest Stop.

When we got to Trails End RV Park near Floral City, FL, we found we had been given a back-in site. While not ideal (we prefer pull-throughs), we thought it wouldn’t be to hard to get into the site.
We were wrong! Forty minutes later, after many false starts and problems with bogging down in the sand on the site, we were finally ready to unhitch.

This was one spot I was so glad we had check list for unhitching. The step-by-step checklist allowed us just to follow instructions and not have to think and we didn’t want to think after getting into our site.
After we walked Nox and got her settled, we headed to Sonny’s BBQ in Bushnell, Florida. Good BBQ with great service and I didn’t have to deal with any food prep. There can be something very relaxing about ordering food and having someone bring it to you after a stressful day.
That is indeed a whole bunch of sand! Anymore, even after a non-stressful day I prefer someone bring me my food!

Wow, that sand had to be hard to contend with! I love Sonny’s BBQ! Enjoy your stay there!

The sand was piled up 7 1/2 inches deep. I had to go measure it because I wondered just how deep it was.

Sand seems like a poor thing to have on an RV site!! Whose idea was that! Glad you got settled in eventually, and got to enjoy a meal out. I am always glad just not to have to think of what to make for dinner for a change.

It was a very poor choice. The site does have some gravel.

Does it feel good to be heading home?

It does feel good to stay in a familiar area. Golden in Colorado still feels more like home than anywhere else right now.

Will you go back there at any point?
