I haven’t had a good phone signal for a bit or if I did have one, we were visiting family, which is why you haven’t heard from me in a while.
I’m backing all the way up to August 25 (Friday). After we hitched the RV up to the truck, we ran through our check list. One of the items is checking that the rear lights on the RV are working.
Arizona gave me a thumbs up as he saw us making sure our lights worked. He yelled, “Good job. It’s smart to have check the lights on your checklist.” I waved at him as Bruce came over the walkie talkie letting me know I could join him in the cab.
I joined Bruce in the cab and we headed out. As we turned the corner of the building, we discovered another Riverstone parked in front on the office door. If you’ve ever seen the movie “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles,” you’ll might recognize the line both of us said at the same time, “You’re going the wrong way.”
Luckily, the Riverstone in the way hadn’t pulled so far up that we couldn’t get out. We had to drive through the storage lot, passing all the beautiful Riverstone RVs. That lot was made with a very chunky gravel.
Once we were on the road, the trip back to Shipshewana RV Park and RV Service Center was easy and without any problems.
We got the RV set up again. Bruce wanted to know what was for supper and I told him I wanted to try the Blue Gate Restaurant and Bakery within walking distance.
We walked to the restaurant and got our name on the waitlist. While waiting, we checked out the garden out front and then the bakery.

The Blue Gate Restaurant and Bakery has a buffet that includes pies, salad bar, soup, side vegetables, and entrees.
The food was traditional Amish and Mennonite cooking. I tried two of the pies. Both were delicious.
We walked slowly home to our Nox. She was waiting for us.

At the end of the day, we were treated to a stunning sunset.

Gld you walked off those pies!

They were delicious pie slices! Bruce had a bite of each pie and said my pies were better. (I think this is a ploy to make sure I make pie for him once and a while.)

Beautiful sunset! I have been kind of busy lately so got way behind on blog reading and had to skip over some posts. I hope to be back to my normal schedule soon.

I am trying to get caught up as well. Not having cell service for a bit put me behind.

Didn’t see any shoo fly pie. I had lemon custard pie and blueberry pie.

Does Nox have a favorite window where she can watch for you to come home?

No, she can’t reach any of the windows in the RV. Bruce likes to rev the motorcycle when he comes home and Nox knows it is him. She gets so excited and she stares so hard at the door with her tail wagging it is so cute!

We all know that Toby loves you, even if he is a bitey dog.
