Regular Living Tasks, Taxes

Updated: March 3, 2023

March 2, 2023

One of the normal yearly task is taxes and just because we are mobile, doesn’t mean we get to miss out on the joy that is tax season.

After we settled in at Riverside RV Resort in Alabama, I completed our Federal and Colorado state taxes forms and filed them electronically. It was a relief to be done with taxes.

This should be the last year we have to file a Colorado state taxes. We don’t have to file anything for Florida, since they don’t have limited state income taxes that deal with small businesses and rentals.

Once the notice came back letting us know the forms were accepted, we went out to eat to celebrate being done with taxes!

Update: Our refunds have arrived!

  1. Ugg I hate doing taxes. I brought our info with me to get started while we are in AZ, but it will have to wait until after our visitors at the beginning of next week. I probably won’t file until we get back to MN in April. Our daughter finally settled in one place (Oakland, CA) and has an address there. For the last 4 years she had our address in MN as her “permanent address” but she was never there. She was a nomad. One year she had 6 W2’s from 4 states!

    1. Yes, indeed. I can download most of my forms right into the software and it saves so much time! Our refunds are in the pending transactions list at the bank, so we should have our refunds tomorrow.

  2. I haven’t had to file in years! And since my husband doesn’t have a green card, neither does he. That said, the taxes he has to file in Italy are…ugh…huge is not enough of a word to describe it, especially after my father-in-law passed away.

    1. That’s to bad. That’s a double whammy. He’s dealing with the grief from the loss of his father and the government says we want our money from the your loss.
