August 31, 2022
On Monday (August 29), Bruce drove back to Effingham, IL so I could see the foot doctor.
The doctor was pleased with my progress and wants me to continue what I am doing for two more weeks. Then, for 3 to 4 days, take one of my antiinflammatory pills a day.
He was okay with me calling his office to let them know how I was doing in three weeks.
I am able to get around a bit and I am being careful to stick to flat walking for now.

On the way to the doctor’s office, I noticed the leaves on the trees were starting to turn yellow.
“Autumn is closing in.”

Please excuse the photos with the reflections from the side window in the truck.
Good job taking care of the foot. Glad it’s improving!

I am really looking forward to being able to enjoy hiking. I feel like I am really missing out on the places we’ve been.

I haven’t heard of Wabash Cannonball Bridge. It sounds interesting. I’ll have to look it up.

It is a railroad bridge crossing. I just saw a cool post about it not long ago.
