Stopping in Fruita, CO at the Dinosaur Journey Museum

October 2, 2020

I had been wanting to see the Dinosaur Journey Museum which is a part of the Museum of Western Colorado for some time. I let Bruce know that I wanted to stop in Fruita, CO to see the Dinosaur Journey Museum and I asked if we should stop on the way to Moab, UT or if we should stop on our way back.

Bruce felt it would be a good stopping point on the way to Moab, UT. Once we got to Fruita, the signs to the museum were posted along I-70 and the along the exist. The museum was close to the exist and easy to find. I did not take a picture of the outside.

I felt the museum was well set up and had great exhibits. They had a small gift shop as well.

WARNING – I took a LOT of pictures of the exhibits. I still love dinosaurs and fossils the way I did as a child.

  1. Another fave! We frequently would camp at James Robb State Park when RV’ing in the area and on those road trip occasions by car there is a dog-friendly (waves to Nox!) La Quinta next door to the museum (appropriately on “Raptor Road.”). Driving through the Colorado Monument is great fun, too.
