Caterpillars and Ladybug Larvae

July 18, 2020

I had harvested my dill plants to make pickles. I pulled them up by the roots, cut the roots off, and brought the dill inside. I put it into a vase with cold water until I was ready to use the dill.

As I was stripping off the fronds, I found a couple of caterpillars and a couple of ladybug larvae. I recognized the caterpillars as parsley worms or black swallowtails caterpillars.

Since I love ladybugs and black swallowtail butterflies, I took the caterpillars and ladybug larvae into my garden and put them on some parsley plants.
