Resuming Work on Blueberry Ring

On August 11, I resumed weeding the blueberry ring. I made good progress on getting towards the other end. While I was weeding, Bruce found another use for the tractor. Wait until you see what he did!

I finally remembered to take pictures of the blueberry ring. The end was in sight, but it was too hot to continue. I walked around the outside of the ring to take the pictures.

This Hackberry Emperor came to visit me while I was pulling up weeds. I had two at one time visiting me.

Now, what Bruce was up to.

In a recent post, Bruce was happily reigning destruction on the vegetation growing on pig pen fence.

Bruce removed enough vegetation to get to the fence. He began the next step; separating the fencing from the T-Post. He used his end nipper pliers. Bruce grabbed one end of the clip and rolled the clip off. I am not sure what he did, but that was the explanation I got. I would have to see it to understand what he did.

Tractor Time!

Bruce found most of the T-Post didn’t want to come out of the ground using a T-Post puller. He even put all his weight on the lever.

Why not get the posts out by using the power of hydraulics? It would be a ~~fun~~ helpful use of the tractor.

Bruce removed the bucket from the front end loader. He was pleased how easy the bucket came off the front loader. He also believes it will be easy to put the bucket back on.

Bruce attached his ratchet strap to the front loader.

Bruce attached the second part of the strap to the stubborn T-Post. After getting the straps tight, he used the front loader to pull the T-Post right out.

Bruce was so excited how well it worked, he came over to tell me about it.

Bruce used the tractor to pull out a couple more stubborn post. He came and got me so I could see the work he did.

The brown is where the fence was. The corner post had rotted and broken off. There is more vegetation to slash and cut.

Walking back to the house, I noticed a mocking bird on a wire. I’ve seen a flock of mockingbirds in the back field when walking out to the blueberry circle. Babies?
