After the flood we had on June 7, on June 8, we took a look at the damage to the driveway.

The flood water caused the gravel to wash from the driveway into the grass. The grass caught in the cage from the flood water was 20 to 26 inches high on the paw paw shade cage.
On June 9, Bruce took the tractor and with the front loader moved the gravel back onto the driveway.
He moved the last bit of dirt from the dirt pile to the holes left by tree roots in the side yard.

We will need to put more gravel on the driveway, but we plan to wait until the rainy season has passed. The driveway is still very usable, so we may leave it for another couple of years.
Ah, procrastination. It’s the best! 😂

Is there anything you can do to prevent any damage from flooding in the future? That tractor sure has come in handy!

We had this happen in Florida but our driveway is lots less than yours. Mike put in more stones and concrete at the side of the driveway. I remember the neighbor watching and say it will just wash away but so far, his driveway is being affected. We also had a new driveway put in which was expensive, so Mike keeps an eye on it.

Bruce has been thinking of having the driveway chipsealed or putting concrete from the road partway up the hill. Both are expensive options with a driveway as long as ours.

Yes, our small driveway was expensive and we did the lower half which was caving. Now, Mike is thinking of something for the upper half.

The tractor has officially earned its keep. Now, what did Bruce name it? C’mon, we know it has a name.

Stanley the Red Tractor is what I am calling it. Bruce is still trying to think of another name. He was thinking of calling it Little Red, but we had already named the car Little Red Hood.

Bruce sure is getting lots of use out of his Big Red Toy. 😉 Sorry about the floating gravel from the rain. Good thing the tractor was able to make quick work of putting it back.

He is loving his tractor. It has been so handy. It should be for what we spent on it!
