On June 6, Bruce and I picked blueberries. Butterflies flittered through the back field. A variegated fritillary landed next to us while we picked blueberries.
The pink blueberries are from the pink lemonade blueberry plant.
One of the flat aka Saturn peaches was ripe.
The cherry tomatoes have large numbers of green tomatoes on the plants. The Roma tomatoes are productive. The slicing tomatoes are getting big. I even found some ripe cherry tomatoes.
On June 7, the rains came. Our front yard was flooded.
To the north of our driveway, water was running across the road. Vehicles drove past, spraying up small to large rooster tails depending on their speed.
I am so glad we didn’t need anything and had no reason to leave.

Those blueberries look great, and those tomatoes make my mouth water! Hopefully, the water will recede quickly. Enjoy all those wonderful fruits of your labor!

The water was gone later in the evening. I am so happy with the blueberries and tomatoes. The peach was as delicious as I had hoped when I read the description.

Are you preserving your harvests, or are you able to eat everything as you gather them?

I will have to preserve some of the blueberries. I’ve got about 3 quarts in the fridge right now!

I tasted a few here. They have a good blueberry flavor, but they aren’t very sweet. Robins pushed their way under the netting and ate the good ones! 😆

I was very surprised we don’t have birds eating the blueberries and blackberries. The strawberries get pecked now and then.

That is the advantage of living on a hill, even if water does come rushing down the hill. Flooding is definitely hard to clean up.

I know it wrong to be jealous of your rain especially given the flooding part, but it’s so dry here, I just can’t help myself. The harvesting of your berries and peaches made my mouth water. Did you by change make a peach cobler?

No peach cobbler this year, we picked off most of the flowers so the peach trees could build their strength. We missed 4 flowers!
I’ve heard that there is no snow in the mountains. I hope Colorado doesn’t burn this year.

It’s quite true. Conditions are extremely dire in the mountains. I’m hoping the El Niño will start kicking in with promised extra moisture. We definitely need it!
