On a previous post, I said I couldn’t remember what I did that day. A picture from another day jogged my memory. I moved dirt.
I used the three 5-gallon buckets in a wagon method. Bama Dirt Pro Mix is shoveled into the 5-gallon buckets in the wagon. I pull the wagon to the garden bed and dump the dirt from the buckets into the garden bed. This reduces shoveling tremendously. I only have to shovel at one end. Dumping from the buckets is very fast and the weight is something I can handle. I go back to the pile of dirt and shovel dirt into the buckets and repeat the above steps until I am tired.

On April 26, it was back to work. Bruce headed to the pile of branches in the back pasture. He was ready to chip the branch pile into something useful for Blackberry Homestead.

While Bruce was chipping away, I was moving dirt using the three buckets method.
After Bruce came back with the chipper, we took a break for a bit. Bruce and I were hot and needed some water.

After the break, Bruce helped me move dirt. He dumped the bags of Lowe’s “topsoil” over the Bama Dirt. He took off to mow. I went back to moving Bama Dirt.

It was a lot of work. Bruce finished his mowing and helped move the Bama dirt. We both shoveled the dirt into the buckets and he would empty two buckets while I emptied one. We did this until half the bed had a thick layer of Bama Dirt over the Lowe’s dirt.
We gave it up for the day.
We didn’t get much of a sunset, but we did see some fireflies.
