Update on May 8 to correct type of tree planted
On April 21, the gas company came out and marked the gas pipe. It runs on the south side of the driveway veering away from from the driveway at at the circle to connect to the meter.
We talked to the gas company employee as he was marking the pipeline. I asked him about the gas smell we get sometimes at the front door. The employee felt this was dangerous and repaired the meter. I was glad I mentioned that we were smelling gas.
Now that we knew where the pipe line was, we could proceed with planting trees in the front.
On April 22, I noticed the pole beans sprouting while I was weeding.

Later in the day, we planted three weeping willow trees in the front meadow.

We planted two plums in back.

After mulching around the plums with pine chips, about 1/4 of the pile of chips remained. This is just enough left for expected persimmon with some left over. On the right side of the picture, you can see the branches Bruce cut up to fit into the chipper. Bruce and I stacked the branches to chip.

Earlier in the day, Bruce moved the logs cut from Pine Tree 3 and mowed the newly exposed area.

As we walked around with Bruce showing me his work, I noticed the trunk of Pine Tree Three had scrambled eggs slime mold on it. Slime molds are neat creatures.

The currents are growing well.

As we started walking back to the house, we admired the sunset.

Just a short time later, the sun had disappeared.

It was a productive day.
I’m sure you’re itching to get back at it but howzabout you remember it’s going to take a fair time to get back in shape, k?

Well, I’ll try. Do you know looking up involves your abdominal muscles? That was a big surprise to me!

Sheesh, you don’t know how to rest, do you?!
So, would pessimistic people hurt less after surgery because they don’t look up?
I’d heard the name for that slime was Dog Barf Mold. 😂. (I always called it Electric Mustard Mulch Puke. )

I really don’t. I over did today with to much walking. I had to point out the places I wanted Bruce to plant trees. The fig and persimmon I ordered arrived.
Well, it does have two common names. To me, calling it Dog Vomit slime mold just sounds unpleasant 🤢. Scrambled eggs slime mold sounds sounds way nicer.🍳 But if you think about it, just adding slime mold after anything makes it unpleasant. 😆
