On April 1 (Wednesday), Bruce was out mowing while I was cleaning house, when the Lowe’s dirt arrived.
I didn’t realize we had the delivery until I saw the pallet lift in the backyard. I thought what the heck? I stepped outside and Bruce excitedly told me our Lowe’s dirt had arrived. The delivery driver was able to use the heavy-duty pallet lift to drive up the driveway, in the yard, and around the barn.
I took pictures of the second pallet being delivered.

When I walked to the house to continue my housework, I noticed a bumblebee on a clover flower. I wasn’t able to get a bee bum picture.

In the evening, I tried to take a picture of the moon shining through the clouds. The photo doesn’t do it justice.

That’s a lovely moon shot! Have fun add that topsoil this weekend. 😉

I really like the photo of the clouds. I am reminded of a swirl of whipped cream!

I love it…super excited about a load of dirt. I can SO relate to this although somewhere in the back of my reptile brain there’s a wee voice asking when did you give up your dreams of luxury and travel and become so enthralled over a really good pile of topsoil? I’m sure the Julia of age 20 probable never envisioned her life’s path leading to groovin’ on the manure.

No, Julia at age 20 was thinking she wanted to work in an air conditioned office and not on a farm. Julia at 22 wanted to travel and have nice gardens. Julia at 27 wanted to travel and have a job outside of the home. She still wanted to garden. Julia in her 40’s and up to 53 wanted to retire early and buy 5 to 10 acres and garden. Julia at 54 wanted to go RVing and see the country in luxury. Julia wanted 5 to 10 acres and space to garden in when RVing lost its glamour.
Gardening always requires good topsoil. One of my friends said I left good topsoil behind when I moved. I composted at every house I lived in and used the compost to create good topsoil. Now, I am composting, but also taking short cuts to build up my soil.

What is the topsoil destined for?

We are building new beds and will put Bama Dirt Pro mix in the beds and mix the Lowe’s top soil with it.

I need dirt to fill in areas where the ground is uneven or critter tunnels have collapsed. Not nearly as fun as raised beds! 😂

We have areas where tree stumps have rotted away. They dip down and when I step in one, it will jar my spine. We will get our raised beds built and full of dirt, then we’ll start filling in more of the dips.

Ach, yes. I have some of those too. (So much work, so little energy!😂)

Ah, the life of a property owner, so many things to do.

🙄🤣. Maybe we should become hoarders and put abandoned cars over the sinkholes and forget that they were ever there.
