Garage Progress and Tomato Planted in the Seed Starter Tray

March 4, 2025

On Tuesday (March 3), we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather. After we got home from our motorcycle ride, we did some work on the garden. Physical activity was needed to keep our minds off our loss.

Bruce added the three bags the Lowe’s top soil to each of beds A4, A5, and A6.

While Bruce was moving the bagged dirt, I uncovered the greens under the hoop. The hoops covered with several layers of row cloth survived the winter with temps down in the teens F. They were blooming. Weeds had also enjoyed the protected covering.

Before sunset, we moved enough dirt to fill in between the logs for two sections and part of the third section of the new garden bed. We moved three cart loads of dirt, shoveling it into the cart and using the mower to pull the cart next to the new garden bed. We unloaded the dirt into the garden bed.

It was a lot of work and we felt we had accomplished a lot.

Sitting on the porch and watching the sunset was a great way to rest.

Yesterday (March 3), Bruce spent some time in the morning rearranging the his tool boxes and the work bench.

The Toolboxes Moved to East Wall

He moved the toolboxes from the north wall to the east wall and the workbench down.

Bruce keeps saying on a rainy day, he’ll try organizing his tools and getting them put away. Bruce hates organizing, but once it is done, he is great at putting things away in their place.

While Bruce was rearranging the toolboxes, I planted the tomato seeds.

In the afternoon, Bruce worked on digging around the stump of tree number 1. He used a pickax and a shovel. Meanwhile, I add Bama dirt over the Lowe’s dirt in beds A5 and A6. A4 has fireants.
