A nice-sized barn was already on the property when we bought Blackberry Homestead.
It is a three-bay barn. Each barndoor is 1/3 of the length of the barn and fully opens to reveal the bay. Each bay is large enough to hold actual farm equipment, such as a mid-size tractor, bushhog, or plow.

We use the first bay to store the mower and mower accessories.

The chipper and cart fit in behind the mower. You can just see the orange chipper behind the mower. The mower leaf rake is against the back wall.
In the second bay, we have a few items that were in the barn when we bought Blackberry Homestead. We also have some of my garden supplies along the back wall.

We havenāt bothered getting the second bay door open yet. We have a lot of open space we can use for something in the second bay.
Bruce keeps his motorcycle in the third bay. He installed a handle on the third barndoor to make it easy to open and close. He put a latch on the barndoor to keep it closed. There is a lot of room in front of the motorcycle. The post on the left, next to the edge of the picture, is the halfway point for the width of the barn.

There are many things stored in the rafters of the barn by previous owners. We havenāt really looked at them.
The barn and shed are wired for power and light, but the power is off. Why the power isnāt working is something Bruce will have to figure out sometime.
We do clean-up projects in the barn once in a while.
Looks very peaceful

I am sorry for those rafters full of things, most of which is likely of no use to you. Dad stored a lot of things in the rafters of his barn/shop, but they had to be cleared before the estate could close. I would be tempted to just nail plywood to the rafters and pretend it was a lowered ceiling.

It is an idea!

Either that or pay someone to take it all down and get rid of it unless it was something you really wanted and could use!

Bruce hates paying people for something he can do himself. At some point, heāll pull all that down and weāll sort through it.

Will you leave the dirt floor, or do you have plans for something else?

We aren’t planning to do anything to the floor. I like spotting the ant lion funnels in the barn floor.
