Today, after I woke up from my nap, I saw “AutumnWind” had been delivered back to us. I was so excited, I went to get the box. I started to pick it up, then reconsidered. I was unsure how heavy the box was and I am not supposed to lift more than 25 pounds for the next week after my eye surgery.
Better to be safe and let Bruce do it.
When Bruce came inside to cool off from mowing, I told him our DeRubeis had arrived. Bruce laughed and said, “You say that as if it is our only DeRubeis. We’ve got others.” I pouted at him and said, “You know what I meant.” He laughed some more. Bruce was just as excited as I was.
He brought in the box and started opening it. We both wanted to see how “Autumn Wind” looked.
It was very well packaged.

The repair was perfect! We couldn’t see where there had been any damage. It feels smooth and perfect. We are so excited!
Yes, Bruce’s back is filthy. He was on his back, on the barn’s dirt floor, to remove the mower blades to sharpen them.
Dawnel from DeRubeis’s office had been trying to reach me and her emails kept going into my Spam folder. I hadn’t realized this. I had sent her an email asking for an update back in June and she didn’t received it.
Last week, I reached out with the contact form on the artist’s site, as well as sending an email. Dawnel was happy to hear from me, since she had been trying to reach me for a while. She forwarded the emails she had sent to me earlier so I could see she had tried to contact me. I was so frustrated. I did not expect any emails from her to go into my spam folder since we had been communicating fine back and forth before. Stupid, stupid email Spam filter!
With the invoice paid, I received a tracking number and was able to track the movement of the artwork all the way home!
A second one had to be repaired?

No, just the one needed to be repaired. We are collectors of DeRubeis’s artwork and have 6 of his works. Since we didn’t get a chance to celebrate my 60th birthday, I asked DeRubeis for a commissioned piece. I wanted a red dragonfly with a blue and green background. The image I received back was beyond my expectations! I can’t wait for it to be completed!
