Meeting My New Neurologist

May 1, 2025

On Monday (April 28), I had an appointment with the neurologist my new primary care doctor recommended.

I went over my medical history and the medications I am on with him. His office had asked that I bring my medication bottles.

The neurologist thought I might be able to get off of some of the medications I am on. He didn’t want to change anything right now since my medication is working for me. He mentioned after he has seen me for a year, that we would consider removing one medication. If that doesn’t cause me problems, then we could remove another one later.I agreed we could try to reduce my medication.

I would be happy to reduce the medication I am on if I don’t have start to have symptoms again.

When we got home, Nox was happy to see us.

In the cool of the evening, I decided to mulch the apple and peach trees. I took out the zero turn mower with the trailer full of boxes to the orchard. Bruce helped me by directing me at first.

I flattened the boxes, then cut them to fit around the fruit trees, leaving space around the trunk.

I also added a cage around the new apple tree and peach tree. The other trees already had cages around them.

I was able to fill the trailer with leaves using a pitchfork and pull it up to the tree that needed to be mulched. I piled leaves on top of the cardboard using the pitchfork. The sheet mulching should help improve the soil and keep the plant toots cooler.

The neighbor’s cows were out in the pasture. Bruce carried Nox so she could see the cows. Nox was very excited to see (or smell) them since, as long time readers know, Nox loves cows.

While I was working, the sun started setting. I hadn’t seen the sunset from the back pasture before.

It was spectacular!

I headed back to the barn with the zero turn mower and trailer. Bruce unhitched the trailer and moved it manually into the barn. I backed the mower into barn.

I really liked using the mower! It took a bit to get used to, but it was a lot of fun to drive.

I did get some pictures of the plants growing before I got really busy with the sheet mulching.
