This morning, we walked down to the bottom of the driveway, where the water had been rushing over the driveway.
I put my mug down for reference. It is a standard size coffee mug.

The lower flags were underwater. You can see the grass on the flags. We had at least 12 inches of water on the grass in the area closest to the ditch.
Before we removed all the gravel from the upper part of the hill, after every rain I had to go down to the bottom of the driveway, scoop it all up and bring it up the hill. I finally decided it could just stay at the bottom. Fortunately with the new parking pad, rocks and gravel washing down will be significantly curtailed! Can you just rake it out of the grass with a leaf rake and back into the driveway?

We discussed what to do since we donāt want to have the gravel in the grass. We are going to try using the leaf rake to get the gravel back into the driveway. I hope it works!

I will keep my fingers crossed for you! It was helpful for me and also kept the dirt and sand out of the pile since I did not want that back up there. Maybe some day, I will figure out how to keep the dirt from piling up around the edge of the driveway and creating a pond in the middle of the road when it rains!

Sounds like you all will have a drainage project in your future. Glad the water receded so quickly.
