Checking on the RV and Ordering Topsoil

In the early afternoon on January 4 (Saturday), we drove to the Florence Alabama RV Park to make sure the RV was OK.

While we were there, Bruce replaced the RV’s propane tank regulator. It had been acting up, so he wanted a new one installed before the cold weather arrived. The RV was fine, so we after our stop, we had lunch out.

After lunch, we drove to the Bama Dirt location in Florence. We looked at their topsoil. It is screened red silty clay dirt. For their professional mix, they mix the screened topsoil with sand and organic matter. The organic matter is powdered pine bark. I grabbed a handful of the organic matter and it was light and fluffy.

We placed an order for four yards. We were told they were at least two weeks out and the delivery would be in the middle of the week.

I am guessing the soil will be acidic and I’ll have to adjust it.
