I was sitting in the breakfast nook in the kitchen reading, when I heard a noise.
I looked up and there was a sparrow on the kitchen floor. My first thought was, “What? Is that a bird?”
My movement scared it and it flew into the picture window in the living room. It didn’t seem to be seriously hurt as it was able to fly some more.
I carefully peeked around the corner to see where it had gone. I spotted it by the front storm door. The main door was open, but the storm door was closed.
I went to get Bruce to help me herd the bird outside.
As we came down the hall and turned the corner, Bruce and I saw the bird slipping out underneath the storm door, back to the great outdoors.
I knew the storm door had a gap, but large enough for a bird to sneak in and out? Apparently so.

Wow, that was an ambitious bird to come into the house. (Toby had a grand time when a bird got in here!)

I was amazed! I wasn’t sure how it had gotten in. I originally thought it must’ve come in through the sliding glass door while Bruce was busy going in and out.
With it slipping outside under the storm door, I’m certain that’s how it got in.
The bird was very lucky Nox was asleep. If she had been awake, chaos would have ensued.

👍. Murphy has never caught his own, but he agrees that chickens are wonderful!

Nox hasn’t ever caught a chicken either. She agrees with Murphy about chickens being wonderful (to eat).

that is a very savvy bird to remember where it came in! And not to panic!!
