Wildlife at Trails End RV Park in Florida

February 2, 2024

I always enjoy seeing the wildlife at Trails End RV Park.

Two baby alligators started hiding in the water plants beside the dock.

Many people enjoyed walking down to the dock to see the baby alligators. We meet two different couples who had dogs that decided baby alligators would be fun to play with. At different times, the owners of both dogs were watching the alligators and the dogs noticed the owners were looking at the alligators.

One dog was a retriever and it jumped into the water to retrieve an alligator. The other dog was a herding dog and it jumped into the water to herd the alligators.

Both dogs were on leashes and had to be lead along the dock so they could get to shore. The alligator smartly swam away!

Both dogs had to be given baths due to their unscheduled swim.

    1. Yes, Mama might not have just swam away. I was surprised to hear almost the same story from two different couples. We picked up Nox when we walked on the dock. She is nervous around water.

    1. It is funny to think of retrieving or herding alligators. It was also funny to think of the alligators having nothing to do with the dogs and quickly swimming away.

      1. Yes, I am sure she is just the right size for a baby alligator meal. We were very careful not to let her try to chase alligators!
