On Exit 56 off I-80 to Route 26, there are four 153 feet tall flag poles, one positioned at each corner of the Exit. The flags are 30 by 60 feet and each weighs 100 pounds.
“The Flags of Freedom stand in tribute to the men and women who have served, are currently serving, or will serve our country in the future. They are a reminder to future generations of sacrifices made to keep our nation free and secure.”
Happy Birthday to my country, the United States of America!

Glad I’m not responsible for respectfully keeping a 60 foot, 100 pound flag from dragging on the ground!

I didn’t even think about that! It would be interesting to watch them changing flags. It must be something to properly dispose of the large flags.

Did you have a happy 4th? We did. We had a few friends over for a feast. Wish you were here too. 🙂

We did have a great 4th. We rode out to a rails to trails biking/hiking trail and hiked along it. We hung out with some neighbors in the evening.

That sounds fun. We had a good time, despite all the rain, thunder and high winds. Some areas actually got flooded out.
