Walk Around Poverty Point State Park, LA

We’ve been taking walks around the park. Here are pictures of some of the campsites.

As we walked along the paths, I got some pictures of local wildlife.

We walked to the water and along the boardwalk.

I haven’t seen any alligators or bears that the signs warn about. I am okay with that!

Louisiana is such a beautiful state. I wonder why this is named Poverty Point.

  It was named after a plantation in the area. Why the plantation was named Poverty Point is cause for a lot of speculation. It was apparently a very poor area.
