A Walk Around the Historic Downtown of ElliJay, GA

April 7, 2022

On Tuesday, April 5th, we rode the motorcycle in downtown ElliJay, GA. It a beautiful historic downtown with lots of restaurants.

We rode through the large roundabout by the courthouse and welcome center and parked in the large public parking lot.

The welcome center was closed, but they had pamphlets for visitors to take outside the door.

Bruce and I were ready for a late lunch, so the pamphlet about the restaurants came in handy. We started looking the restaurants up to see their ratings.

We settled on an Asian fusion restaurant called “The Shack of ElliJay.” The food was excellent. I had a rice crab bowl and Bruce had a rice spicy tuna bowl.

We walked around downtown. There were several rooftop restaurants.

I didn’t get a picture of the boardwalk that ran behind a row of businesses and restaurants. I did enjoy walking along it through.

After visiting the town, we rode up to a nearby Fort Mountain State Park. We rode around the park and looked at the campground. They have some nice sites. They also have large cabins for rent.

It was a great ride along the twisting road.

Nox was happy to see us when we arrived back at the RV.
