This picture is from August 24. The Concord grapes had ripened in mid-to-late August. You can see were I had pulled off some grapes that had ripened earlier. While the raccoons didn’t get the grapes this year, the squirrels developed a fondness for them and ate a lot of the grapes.

Raccoons and squirrels! We don’t have raccoons here and the forest squirrels are quite shy. This year was a good one for grapes; we’ve been eating them for the past month.

The grey squirrels that we have are very bold and our neighbor feeds them peanuts, attracting not only squirrels but also crows.
