Another Past Day on Blackberry Homestead

July 26, 2026

On July 7, there was a lot going on.

I spent the morning harvesting tomatoes, peppers, squash, beans, and a cucumber.

The famous red pineapple is looking good! It really needs a better spot to show off its beautiful colors.

After I put the produce away, as I was going past the sliding glass door, I saw a dragonfly on the patio.

I worked on my drawing of Dorrie for Jeanne from a Jeanne in the Kitchen.

We didn’t have much of a sunset.

On July 8, rain and more rain, with some thunder and lightning thrown in for good measure. Why do we say “thunder and lightning” instead of “lightning and thunder”? Lightning comes first!

Rainstorm

With nothing to do outside due to the rain, I caught up on the inside chores. I was glad I got so much done in the garden the day before.

After getting rain most of the day, the thunderstorm finally departed to rain on friends to the east of us. With the departure of the storm, we had a lovely sunset with purple in it.

It was a beautiful end to a very wet day.
