We arrived, after a thousand-mile trip, at Blackberty Homestead around 1:00 pm.

Welcome to the jungle! Blackberry Homestead turned into a jungle while we were gone.

  4. Our kudzu and pokeweed jungle is prolific at the moment. It won’t stop raining long enough to mow. Our front yard looks like yours…and we don’t have the excuse that we’ve been gone! Knowing you two, you will have it whipped back in shape in no time.

    1. I feel for you. With all that rain, you just can’t do anything in the yard.
      We were having a lot of rain before we left. That limited what could be done before we left for almost two weeks. Apparently, we had a lot of rain while we were gone. The rain while we were gone is a good thing. I was afraid of returning to a bunch of dead plants.

      3. Fortunately, Randy got the Toro running again, and is currently mowing. Tree work is still on hold at the time, but I can live with that, just not 3 feet high grass and 10 foot high pokeweed!

      4. Pokeweed grows so fast and so high that it is a menace! Our grass was only 18 to 20 inches high! Yours sounds like it could be harvested for hay!

        I am glad Randy was able to get the Toro running and is cutting down the jungle!
