On June 26, while I was out in the garden, Bruce was playing using the tractor to move dirt.
He put more dirt in the holes left in the south side yard from digging out roots. See https://retirementrvdream.com/2026/05/23/watching-bruce-enjoy-the-new-toy-tractor/ for the removal of the roots.
Bruce smoothed out the dirt with the front loader. He wasn’t able to get it perfect, and Bruce talked about using the garden rake on it.
Bruce attacked the grassy knoll. There are long holes around it, and we want them filled.
Bruce doesn’t like the grassy knoll feature in the yard, while I kind of do. Since he mows the front yard and has to deal with it, I am okay with leveling the grassy knoll. Bruce wants to fill in the holes with the dirt from the knoll.
The pictures below show the start of the attack on the grassy knoll and the dirt moved to fill in a couple of holes.
Bruce also pulled up a small stump in the front. He usedthe backhoe to catch on the stump and just ripped it out of the ground.
I was impressed by all the progress. Bruce was happy with all the work he accomplished by using the tractor.
Bizarrely, after showing me his accomplishments, this pecan limb fell after we went inside. We had not had any wind, so we don’t know why it fell. We guessed it had broken in a storm and just took a while to break off.

We have had several more limbs from the pine trees fall since the storm. We are still not done with clean up, but we do what we can.

It is scary when branches randomly fall out of trees.
What popped in my head was clean up on Susie property. Safe clean up on your property.

Talk about timing! Glad you weren’t hit with that pecan branch. Bruce is getting a lot accomplished with his new toy. Bravo to him.

We had been under that tree in the same area as the fallen branch just a short time before. It was a scary to think about the branch falling on us.
Bruce is loving the amount of work he can complete with his toy.
